Thank you for the race plan. It was spot on!!
I stuck to eating every hour and drinking plenty of tailwind and water. I even had a couple of other runners comment when I pulled my first cheese and tomato toastie out only 45 minutes into the run stating are you eating already! 😂
Everything seemed to go down well and I stayed hydrated. I had a couple of cups of coke before going up and down the big climb at the end just to get a bit of a sugar hit.
During and after the race I felt great which is what I was hoping for. I was so sick for days after Tarawera and this is what I was hoping to improve on which I did. I didn’t have any nausea or sickness and was able to enjoy a couple of beers and pizzas after the race.
So a big thank you to you for sharing your knowledge. It made a massive difference. With every race we keep learning and getting better and I love it.
